I know you read THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATOO and liked it.  Did you read the other two books?  I have not read any of them, but I did get the dvd of Dragon Tatoo.  I will watch tomorrow.

I'm on the third book, "The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest." Yes, I liked the first two and am enjoying the third. I haven't seen the movie of the first book yet. I want to wait until I finish the trilogy.

After you finish the trilogy, and watch the dvd, I would like your input as to whether the dvd is true to the book.  Many thanks.  I would love to read the trilogy and maybe this summer I will.  Are the books available in paperback yet?

Yes, I have the first two in paperback.  I got them at CostCo. Walmart also has them.  The third is still hardcover but should be out in paperback soon.

Is the film in Swedish?  I didn't think there was an American remake yet.

This film is Swedish with English dubbed.  It was very good.  Very intense and graphic.  The next film is made in the US with different stars.  Noomi Rapace played Lisbeth in the Swedish film, but the next one, THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE will feature an actress, Rooney Mara.
Rapace was so good, so brooding and intelligent, I cannot imagine another actress playing the part.
From what I gleaned at the imdb board for this movie, it is not exactly true to the book in that the character of Mikael (sp) was kind of a cad in the book, but he is not in the movie.
I am buying the books next month to see for myself.

Mikael is not a cad in the books--he just doesn't understand that Lisbeth fell in love with him and then saw him with his long time lover/friend.  It's a very complicated relationship.  I think you will like the books.
