If silence speaks volumes, I suspect it's because message boards have become about as popular in the current Internet Age as party lines never were in the early Telephone Age.  So many folks have become enamored with instant communication that doesn't seem to require a bit of thought being put into it.

As long as Boss Nytram keeps this place open, I'll be here--for him, for those of us still here, and for me!

Hugs to all,

Kitty who's headed off for her bedtime snaque.  (It's a snack with beer, a snaque with wine--either way, it's good!)

The #4 most visited website in U.S. and #6 in the world is a message board/forum discussion site.

IMDb was in the top ten or twenty, and they shut down those millions of boards because, supposedly, the assholery got out of control. But the real reason was that they couldn't make enough money. Assholery became its reason for being, not buying STUFF, which is why it existed in the first place. So...the plug was pulled.

I walked away from IMDb a year or two before that point....and I found I didn't miss it nearly as much as I thought I would. Most of its boards weren't all that much fun anymore. The fan boards were, but when the shows died or ended or were cancelled, the boards died, too.

I have found other outlets for my bitchery and my pissing and moaning. A blog out of Chicago. Two local sites here in Cleveland.

And, of course, I'm still here, no matter how teensy this board gets. Charlie is a diehard!

I'm too stubborn to let this place die. NytramsPlace started with me talking to myself. If it comes to that again I'll still be here posting cat pictures.

That's rather encouraging, but I have to wonder how deeply those sites are slanted toward and exclusive to shared opinions, with no room or allowance for opposing ones.

Anyway, it's just a few minutes past 4 a.m., time for moi to have a bedtime snack, so I'll wish you all a gracious good night, what's left of it.  Cheow furr neow.
