why do quarterbacks lick their fingers before handling the football?

Do they give any thought to where that damned ball has been--all over the field, touched by so many other hands, and including the opposing quarterback's spit?  How disgusting. hmm

I was once dragged off the rugby pitch so badly hurt, that a member of the opposing (I hope) team had left a boot stud embedded in my leg.

And the girl that I was hoping to impress look at me, wrinkled her nose and said, "Gosh, this is such a messy game."

I think that men and women tend to view sports differently.

I don't think, I know, that in general, women and men tend to view sports differently.  I've never cared for sports at all, not after Mrs. Koshlap made us play field hockey every autumn during our phys. ed. class.

I don't watch sports on purpose, but Eddie enjoys college and pro football and the World Series, so I'll catch parts of games if I'm sitting in the back living room trying to do something else.  The commentators annoy the bejesus out of me, especially the female ones, who, according to me, have no business offering their perky, albeit mercifully brief, remarks on a male game. cry

From the Cubbies to the Trumpies...in ONE fucking week's time. From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows.
Lucinda and I are 69 now...we're getting too old for this kind of roller-coaster crap.
