Gardenias.  They're proof that God loves us just because of their aroma.

the rain we've had recently--we were without any for quite awhile, so it was much needed

Treat night out at the Mandarin restaurant buffet.......

(crab legs were on last night and Amelia shredded as much as she could and put it in her won ton soup....Sophie got fed up with the effort of taking apart crab legs and switched to jello, watermelon, and Caesar salad...both finished up with a stick of candy floss !)

Our new garage door!  This past Wednesday evening, when Eddie pressed the button to lower ye olde one, one of the springs went sproing! as the door came down.

Ed called the company that had installed the overhead door in the shed house down back about 6 or 7 years ago Thursday morning.  The dad was out here that afternoon to take a look and measurements and assessments and whatevers, and dad and son were here at 7:15 Saturday morning with all the panels for a steel door (the original one was wood) and necessary hardware and were finished by 9 a.m.  $950, I was expecting about four times that.  No invoice, no separate statement about sales tax...but hey, we live in Florida! biggrin

Good for you with the door fix.

I like having my grass cut and edge trimmed by my yard service guys.  I look after so much in the garden, I just had to let something go.

Hiring everything done, although yes, I'm grateful that's not completely necessary--yet--because it means Eddie's still able to do not only our yard work but damned near all the neighbors' as well.

Saturday morning, he went out to clean the pool, which required going down to the whine cellar to turn on the pump manually, and he found himself knee-deep in water.  The drain had become clogged by tree roots.  He managed to resolve that in a couple hours, but cripes, what's next?  I keep encouraging him to have the damned thing filled in and be done with it, since neither of us uses it any more.  So far he's not listening to me.

They're probably in our markets by now, too, just as the very brief Athena cantaloupe season is closing.  Trust me, the Athenas are the sweetest cantaloupes ever.

Things I like--waterproof mascara.
