I'd been clipping the occasional coupon for her O, That's Good! products for several months, but Publix didn't start carrying it until I guess last week.  They'd already run out of the smashed potatoes, I wasn't interested in the soups, but the 3-cheese pasta looked like it might be good.

Bleah--the flavor was mundane, but the horrid part was the pasta corkscrews were so undercooked that we couldn't eat them.  Plus, the film didn't want to be loosened to vent while microwaving, so I had to cut around a corner with a knife.

Don't quit your day job, Oprah. hmm

I have no use for her. Nothing she has done has ever left a positive impression on me...except for...MAYBE..."The Color Purple" in the mid-80s.

I've always liked the few acting performances in which I've seen her, but I've never watched her show--I'm not one for talk fests.  I do like to try new products, but only if I don't have to pay full price.

That is too bad Kitty. I have been thinking of trying some of her foods but I will not bother. Cripes any of the TV dinners would have been an improvement. Once in a while I buy the "hungry man's Dinner". Its not a meal but its nice to have when I am cooking completely something only Ed can eat and I am too tired to cook myself something more substantial.

Hey, Uni, the smashed potatoes and the soups might be really good, but I shan't bother finding out unless I find a coupon for one offering it completely free.

As I know I've mentioned many times, I at first resented Eddie's taking over more and more of the cooking since he retired in 2007, but fortunately for both of us, he's quite good at it.  He enjoys searching for, finding, and printing recipes from the Net and trying them out, plus he shops for and pays for the ingredients, so it's like having a raise in my grocery allowance.

His father was similar after he retired as far as taking charge of cooking--for himself, anyway.  Every day he fixed himself a hot dog for lunch (and probably one for supper as well), complained that Mom didn't want any because she must've thought he was trying to poison her...never mind that she probably didn't like hot dogs and preferred to fix her own food.  Not much variety in their cuisine in their later years.
