Not my cup of tea, even with a generous slosh of bourbon in it.

I enjoyed Stephen King's early novels a few decades ago, but my interest in horror has faded since then.

Stephen King...yuck. never had any liking for the bastard, so I have always avoided his stories and the films based on them.
The school fire in "Carrie' was supposedly based on the 1942 Coconut Grove nightclub fire in Boston, in which hundreds died.
Look it up...it was pretty awful. They died horribly. Real life has enough horror without having to invent it. King? Feh!

I've never understood all the hate King gets. If you don't like the genre that's fine but you weren't blindsided. You know what you're getting when you see his name on the cover.
