Christ, UK politics are boring right now

They shouldn't be.

The UK officially leaves the EU on 29 March 2019 and while the bulk of the Conservative party are Brexiters, there is a rump that wants to stay. And this rump includes Mrs May, the Prime Minister who is continually sucking up to Brussels but does not have the bottle to actually ask the EU if we can remain. No one wants an outright civil war in the Tory party because that might delay Brexit, but it is pretty much an open secret that come spring Mrs Mwill be thrown to the wolves and Boris Johnson or another Brexiter will take over.

All good fun, but it means that everyone is being very civilised and dull for the next seven months. Boris is broadening his bottom and while swearing undying loyalty to the Prime Minister is gaining public sympathy by being rude to the EU mandarins. And Jacob Rees Mogg has some good stuff to say but it isn't actually blood on the streets. He has put the boot into Mark Carney, the do nothing governor of the Bank of England, but Carney is such a dour lump that he probably enjoys it anyway.

All in all it is like watching the ducks on a pond. Paddling like mad underneath the water, but everything visible is calm and dull
